Ralph and Billie Howard

Ralph and Billie Howard were long time residents of Lindale, Texas. They were not able to complete high school, but they were determined that each of their children would receive the training and education needed to become productive citizens. To encourage and support their five children Ralph and Billie:

Believed strongly in the necessity and importance of educational and specialized training

Required each of their children to actively pursue and successfully complete the preparation required of their chosen professions/occupations

Demonstrated by their lives a strong work ethic and a belief in the dignity of work

Held high expectations

Made many sacrifices to provide opportunities for their children

Among the five Howard children there are seven college and university degrees and extensive technical and specialized training.

The five Howard children established the Ralph and Billie Howard Foundation for Scholarship and Technology, and in 1997 The Internal Revenue Service recognized the Foundation as a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization.

The Foundation:

Honors the parents who encouraged the Howard children and expected the best efforts of each;

Assists deserving students in the pursuit of their educational goals;

Helps teachers who want to improve and/or update professional training and to acquire new skills in using technology.
